Arnold Schwarzenegger gets candid on Democrat Party’s destruction of American cities

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger laid out his thoughts in a new interview about what it means to be a Republican while contending that Democrats are all about ruining American cities.

Speaking with actor Rob Lowe in a podcast interview released on Thursday, the former California GOP governor admitted he has “no idea” why the other party chooses to “f*ck up every city” in the U.S. but that seems to be the “theme” of the Democrats.

During the conversation, Lowe referred to former California Republican Congressman David Dreier, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 to 2013. Dreier had described what it meant to be a Republican.

“Okay, let me ask you this, and I ask people this all the time. David Dreier, good friend of ours and a good man. Surfer for many, many, many years,” Lowe began on SiriusXM’s “Literally! With Rob Lowe” podcast.

“He used to have the greatest, what makes me a Republican, and he had I think four or five things. I think it was, in no particular order, strong military, low taxes, less government, more personal freedoms. There might have been one more, but it makes sense to know –” he continued before Schwarzenegger interjected.

“Strong law enforcement,” the “Terminator” actor said.

“Strong law enforcement,” Lowe repeated. “And then I’d like to know, I always ask Democrats what it means to be a Democrat in that way. And I, I think whatever anybody would say –”

Schwarzenegger didn’t miss a beat and replied, “Ruin your cities.”

Lowe seemed unsure of the response and asked Schwarzenegger again to repeat, which did, saying “Ruin your cities.”

“That’s what the Democrats would say. We are about ruining the cities,” the 76-year-old Austrain-born actor said.

“We want to f**k up every city in America. That seems to be the theme right now,” he added.

“Why is that?” Lowe asked.

Schwarzenegger simply replied, “I have no idea.”

American cities run by Democrats have come up short again and again in serving their citizens. Skyrocketing crime rates with murders, lootings, carjackings and more are splashed across headlines daily in Democrat-run cities as countless residents flee for safer zones in red states.

Schwarzenegger served as California’s Republican governor from 2003 to 2011 but many in his party have found plenty to disagree with him about as many of his policies leaned more to the left. His pro-vaccine stance during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as his climate crisis views have sparked criticism from GOP voters.

He regularly criticized former President Donald Trump and in 2021, he told People magazine that the administration was like Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party.

In a recent New York Times interview, Schwarzenegger expressed he still feels at home in the Republican Party.

“There was very rarely anyone like me in bodybuilding, very rarely anyone like me in acting and very rarely like me in politics. I’m me,” he said.”If they want to be stuck in the ideological corner, then I say, I think I’m freer if I’m not, and I can work with more people. I feel totally comfortable in the Republican Party. I just think it is important to listen. I encourage them to listen to the polls and make every effort to be a public servant and not a party servant.”
