President Joe Biden’s reelection hopes could be in big trouble if he can’t carry the reliably Democrat states and alarm bells are going off over his growing unpopularity in Michigan.
Unable to gain traction in his bid for another four years at the helm of a rapidly deteriorating America, the deeply unpopular octogenarian’s road could be even more bumpy if voters in the deep blue state turn against him, a possibility that is steadily increasing as discontent over his support for Israel festers in the Wolverine State.
“The level of concern is growing and it should be,” Lansing-based Democratic strategist Adrian Hemond told the Wall Street Journal. “The problem is not policy. The problem is the man.”
A December CNN poll showed that Biden is trailing GOP frontrunner Donald J. Trump in the state, one that he can ill afford to lose with its heavy concentration of organized labor, a demographic that “Union Joe” has consistently carried throughout his long political career.

But Michigan also has a huge Muslim population, one that has been increasingly vocal in their frustration over Biden’s refusal to bow to pressure to force a ceasefire in Gaza where the Jewish democracy is carrying out a military operation to eradicate the threat from the Hamas terror organization that massacred over 1,200 Jews in civilian areas in a sneak attack on October 7, 2023.
“It’s costing him here in Michigan,” said Michigan Democrat David Haener who is quoted by the WSJ. “I wish he would see that he’s leaving a huge demographic behind.”
One Muslim voter who previously supported Biden and as a part of a CBS News focus group expressed his frustration with the incumbent president, saying that he feels disenfranchised over the administration’s reluctance to intervene in Gaza.

‘He’s not listening to us. We are asking for a ceasefire…,“ the Muslim Democrat named Thasin told “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan.
“I was never a single-issue voter, in fact I used to argue with people not to be single-issue voters but for me, this is a deal breaker,” he said.
A more prominent Michigan Muslim, Israel-hating “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who represents Dearborn, MI, the Detroit suburb that has a heavy Muslim population has been a fierce critic of Biden over Gaza and recently said that she won’t commit to supporting him in the upcoming election.
“The struggle that I have with the president is a number of issues,” Tlaib told the Wall Street Journal in an article that was published last month, adding that her Middle East refugee constituents “feel invisible to the government.”
Another Michigan Democrat, Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) suggested that Biden has some sucking up to do if he has any hope of getting Muslims in Dearborn back on the reservation.

“Michigan has one of the largest Muslim populations in the country. Is there anything President Biden can do to win back those voters?” NBC’s Kristen Welker asked the congresswoman on “Meet the Press” last month.
“So there’s a lot that has to be done. And this is a very serious issue,” Dingell said. “I lived in Dearborn for 40 years with the man that I loved. I moved last year because of redistricting. I know this community. They are hurting.”
Biden’s hopes of staying in the White House would pretty much evaporate if he loses Michigan to Trump as Hillary Clinton did in 2016.
