President Joe Biden didn’t waste any time filling the soon-to-be-vacated spot of his climate czar John Kerry by tabbing alongtime Democratic party operative to fill his shoes.
Taking over for the insufferable globetrotting windbag will be John Podesta, a Clinton White House veteran, and current top Biden adviser who will be bumped up to the position of U.S. special presidential envoy for climate, a position that was created in 2021 immediately after the regime took power.
The news broke on Wednesday when the Associated Press reported that Podesta would be taking over once Kerry officially leaves, citing an anonymous source who “was not authorized to speak publicly about the details of an appointment that has not been publicly announced” with the Washington Post later making it official.
Last month it was announced that the 80-year-old former senator would be stepping back from his role as the nation’s top global warming ambassador to assume a role in Biden’s reelection campaign, a move that was probably long overdue with Kerry’s sanctimonious doomsday prophet act having made him into an international joke.

“In three years, Secretary Kerry has tirelessly trekked around the world — bringing American climate leadership back from the brink and marshaling countries around the world to take historic action to confront the climate crisis,” said White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients in a statement. “We need to keep meeting the gravity of this moment, and there is no one better than John Podesta to make sure we do.”

Podesta also served as Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager on the former first lady’s doomed 2016 White House run with her historic presidency derailed in no small part by his carelessness with his password that allowed for his personal emails to be obtained by WikiLeaks.

Before being selected to replace Kerry, Podesta was brought in to oversee the disbursement of funds for the sweeping climate programs that were crammed through the Senate with zero Republican support back in 2022. As the Senior Advisor to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation, putting him in charge of the $370 billion that would be doled out for clean energy projects.
“As he assumes his new role, John will bring both a deep understanding – and a proven model – for how countries around the world can enhance their ambition while unlocking a new era of clean, inclusive, and resilient economic growth. John’s efforts and experience will be critical as countries around the world develop their next round of enhanced emissions targets, which are due early next year, as well as work to build out the global clean energy supply chains necessary for achieving our shared climate goals,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in a Wednesday statement.
