Fetterman again calls for fellow Dem to be expelled from the Senate after latest charges

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) renewed the call for his embattled colleague Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to be expelled from the U.S. Senate after his latest federal indictment.

Menendez, who stinks of corruption, is now facing additional bribery charges regarding his accepting gifts from foreign actors, this time involving Qatar according to a superseding indictment that was unsealed by the Justice Department on Tuesday.

According to the indictment filed in the Southern District of New York, Menendez accepted luxury goods including race tickets and expensive watches in return for helping the Middle Eastern country’s government.

Fetterman took to X, formerly known as Twitter, where he once again called for Menendez to be kicked out of Congress, which isn’t likely to happen with Democrats controlling the upper chamber.

“Now, accused of selling his honor and our nation for a $24,000 watch. Accused as a foreign agent for two nations,” wrote the Pennsylvania Democrat. “How much more before we finally expel @SenatorMenendez?”

The hulking lawmaker had previously called for his fellow senators to give the boot to Menendez after his first indictment over a foreign bribery scheme involving Egypt.

“Senator Menendez should not be a U.S. Senator. He should have been gone long ago. It is time for every one of my colleagues in the Senate to join me in expelling Senator Menendez,” he said in October 2023.”We cannot have an alleged foreign agent in the United States Senate.”

Fetterman has emerged as one of the crooked senator’s biggest congressional critics and recently called for “Bobby Gold Bars” to resign as a Christmas present to New Jersey.

Bobby Gold Bars is punishing competent and outstanding public servants to distract from his impending penal career move. @SenatorMenendez retract your petty hold, then RESIGN as the perfect Christmas present for the people of NJ and the U.S. Senate. https://t.co/TdSURsk5mF — Senator John Fetterman (@SenFettermanPA) December 22, 2023

He was of course referring to the cache of gold bars along with hundreds of thousands of dollars that FBI agents seized during a raid of the Menendez residence.

Fetterman also likened Menendez to a certain fictional New Jersey character of some note.

“Honestly, I was actually surprised that I was the first one. I mean, it’s so black and white. I mean, it’s so clear. The last time there’s ever been a man with so much cash in their home in New Jersey was Tony Soprano. You know? I mean, it’s not a— it’s not a— it’s not a close call, and if you were looking for the most incriminating kinds of evidence, nobody could even come up with gold bars in a mattress,” he said during an appearance on MSNBC.

After initially struggling in his new role as a senator as he tried to bounce back from his stroke and was widely mocked for his slovenly attire of a grungy pair of shorts and hoodies, Fetterman has been a changed man since he was treated for clinical depression last year and has recently infuriated leftists with his common sense remarks about immigration, TikTok and his standing by Israel.

The senator’s staunch support of the Jewish nation in its war on the Hamas terror organization that massacred over 1,200 of its citizens hasn’t sat well with virulently anti-Semitic progressives who believed that the hulking former mayor of blue-collar Braddock, PA was one of the only to find that he finds their Jew-hatred to be repulsive.

His hard line on Menendez is just one more example of Fetterman’s newfound willingness to buck his party.
