James Woods on UPenn president: ‘She didn’t get fired. They just rearranged the chess pieces on the board.’

The president of the University of Pennsylvania resigned days after she testified before Congress about on-campus antisemitism.

But Liz Magill’s departure as president of the university isn’t the win some see it as, according to actor James Woods who reacted on social media to the fact that Magill will remain part of the school’s faculty.

Magill’s appalling response to questions before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce last week earned her and Claudine Gay, president of Harvard University as well as Sally Kornbluth, president of MIT, harsh criticism.

Not directly condemning the antisemitism of far-left activists on the UPenn campus, Magill was asked by the school’s board of trustees to step down following the hearing, and as donations, like the one nearing $100 million, were withdrawn. Even Magill’s video attempting to explain herself did not stem the bleeding.

Great news – UPenn President Liz Magill has resigned after allowing the once prestigious University to fall into a chaotic cesspool of Jew hatred this past year! Let’s hope Harvard’s President Gay is next. pic.twitter.com/tkOKOXGJ7z — StopAntisemitism (@StopAntisemites) December 9, 2023

Magill stepped down from the position on Saturday in a move announced by Scott Bok, the chair of the university’s board of trustees, who also submitted his resignation.

“I write to share that President Liz Magill has voluntarily tendered her resignation as President of the University of Pennsylvania,” he wrote to the school community in a letter before qualifying Magill’s exit. “She will remain a tenured faculty member at Penn Carey Law.”

He shared a statement from Magill: “It has been my privilege to serve as President of this remarkable institution. It has been an honor to work with our faculty, students, staff, alumni, and community members to advance Penn’s vital missions.”

In response, James Woods noted that Magill will “still be hustling ‘context’ to the lemmings at the law school.”

“She didn’t get fired. They just rearranged the chess pieces on the board,” the conservative actor noted.

Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who asked the university presidents about their schools’ code of conduct at the hearing, called out the news about Magill as “the bare minimum.”

One down. Two to go. This is only the very beginning of addressing the pervasive rot of antisemitism that has destroyed the most “prestigious” higher education institutions in America. This forced resignation of the President of @Penn is the bare minimum of what is required.… — Rep. Elise Stefanik (@RepStefanik) December 9, 2023

“Good Riddance!” wrote Rep. Ritchie Torres, a New York Democrat who was happy with the move. “America urgently needs college and university presidents able and willing to take a morally clear stand against antisemitism.”

But while many applauded Magill’s resignation as president, they agreed with Woods that the move did not go far enough.

Correct. She went back to being a tenured law proff. I can just imagine what kind of garbage she will be teaching law students. — Webmiester (@YourWebmiester) December 10, 2023

.@Penn rearranged thinking people wouldn’t noticed they’re keeping Magill on staff. Penn is like Harvard, promoting Hamas. — Navy⚓Brat (@_NavyBrat) December 10, 2023

Well, that’s what always happens to ‘presidents’, ‘directors’, ‘board members’… they never get fired like the plebs. They resign or retire most of the time with never have to work severance. — Not Picasso (@makefunpics) December 10, 2023
