Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) lashed out at her opponent in next year’s primary, accusing him of sexism and likening him to former President Donald J. Trump over remarks made on a recent podcast.
The ethically challenged left-wing lawmaker tore into former Minneapolis city council member Don Samuels who gave her a run for her money last year in the primary for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district and is once again seeking her seat.
The “Squad” member sought to characterize Samuels as a misogynist, defining him well in advance of voters going to the polls by seizing on his remarks during “The Break Down with Brodkorb and Becky” podcast to play the victim by claiming that he insulted her appearance.
“This is beneath the dignity of any adult, let alone someone seeking public office. It is reminiscent of the worst kinds of lies and misogyny that we are hearing from people like Donald Trump, who think they can say anything about women and get away with it,” Omar said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Like Trump, instead of engaging in an adult debate, @DonSamuelsMNrelies on lies and sexism. We need civility now more than ever and Don’s behavior should be alarming to anyone who agrees,” she added.
Samuels’ remarks that triggered the thin-skinned Omar came during a discussion about accountability and accessibility to constituents after being asked about previous criticism of the Somali-born Democrat not being sufficiently responsive to members of the public.
“And so to see government not be responsive like that to the people who pay them, it is offensive to me,” he said. “And to not be responsive and available to those people? To meet with them and find out what their concerns are and to answer their tough questions? To not get back to people on the phone?”
“Who do you think you are? And who do you think you’re working for? You’re not cute enough, you don’t dress well enough, nothing about you is attractive enough to overcome that deficit,” the candidate added, comments that were spun to make it sound as if he said that Omar was unattractive.
Samuels rejected what he saw as an attempt to mischaracterize his comments by taking them out of context to score political points.
“This is an attempt to mischaracterize a response about politicians who talk the talk versus walk the walk. In listening to my full answer, it’s abundantly clear that I’m talking broadly about politicians who value their own celebrity over the needs of their constituents,” he said on X, reacting to a local reporter who was stirring the pot.

To further rebut Omar and his critics, Samuels posted a like to the podcast and the specific timestamp in the discussion when his remarks were made.
We shouldn’t be surprised Rep. Ilhan Omar saw herself in my response. I strongly encourage everyone to listen to the interview for themselves. Full question and answer begins at 21:49.https://t.co/PoXIF1SPcJ — Don Samuels (@DonSamuelsMN) November 29, 2023
Omar, like her fellow anti-Semitic “Squad” members, seems to have a case of the jitters over protecting her cushy job with the powerful American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) which is reportedly preparing to pump millions of dollars in an effort to dislodge the Jew-haters from Congress.
