Republicans lashed out at President Joe Biden over his feckless foreign policy after at least three service members lost their lives in a drone attack believed to have been carried out by Iran-backed militants.
The news broke of the aerial strike on the U.S. base near the Syrian border in northeast Jordan that took place late Saturday with the early casualty figures also showing nearly three dozen more being wounded.
“On Jan. 28, three U.S. service members were killed and 25 injured from a one-way attack UAS that impacted at a base in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border. As a matter of respect for the families and in accordance with DoD policy, the identities of the servicemembers will be withheld until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified,” CENTCOM said in a statement, confirming the deaths on Sunday.
Biden has come under fire over billions of dollars that his administration gave to Iran, a country long acknowledged as one of the planet’s greatest purveyors of terrorism, and now that American blood has been shed in a Middle East that is already a powder keg, the warnings of critics appear to have come true.
The attack shows the degree to which the nation has lost respect on the world stage under Biden and former President Donald J. Trump wasted no time in pointing out how things have changed.

“This terrible day is yet more proof that we need an immediate return to PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, so that there will be no more chaos, no more destruction, and no more loss of precious American lives. Our Country cannot survive with Joe Biden as Commander in Chief,” Trump added in another post.
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley took a brief break from parroting the Democrats’ anti-Trump talking points to also unload on Biden.
“As a military spouse, my heart breaks for the families who lost loved ones. This shows the barbaric nature of our enemies in Iran. And it shows that they would not be attacking our troops if Joe Biden weren’t so weak in his treatment of Iran. We should retaliate with the full force of American strength. It’s the only way to prevent further war. If we do not, these attacks will only continue,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“The Biden administration is discussing using weaponry sales to Israel as leverage to convince the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to heed long-standing U.S. calls to scale back its military assault in the Gaza Strip, according to three current U.S. officials and one former U.S. official,” the outlet reported. “At the direction of the White House, the Pentagon has been reviewing what weaponry Israel has requested that could be used as leverage, said the sources. They said no decisions have been made.”
