Biden mulls cuts in Israel military aid to pressure Netanyahu into backing off in Gaza – report

The Biden administration is reportedly quietly considering cutbacks in military aid to Israel to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to back off in the campaign to destroy terrorists in Gaza.

Facing unrelenting pressure from his anti-Semitic base in an election year that is crucial to his party maintaining its hold on the White House, the regime is mulling “using weaponry sales to Israel as leverage to convince” Netanyahu to dial down the war on Hamas, NBC News reported.

According to the outlet which cites the usual anonymous sources in “three current U.S. officials and one former U.S. official,” drops a bombshell that suggests Biden could undercut the Jewish state, America’s most critical Middle East ally to placate leftists who are demanding a ceasefire.

“At the direction of the White House, the Pentagon has been reviewing what weaponry Israel has requested that could be used as leverage, said the sources. They said no decisions have been made,” NBC News reported.

“The effort comes after weeks of President Joe Biden and his national security team failing to convince Netanyahu and other Israeli officials to dramatically change tactics in Gaza and to take more steps to minimize civilian casualties, officials said. It marks a potential shift in Biden’s approach by going beyond rhetorical pressure, largely behind the scenes, and to making tangible policy changes aimed at getting Israel to act,” according to the outlet.

The timing of the report couldn’t be worse for Biden after at least three U.S. service members were killed in an attack on their base in Jordan, near the Syrian border, in a drone strike by Iran-backed militants.

Reactions to a potential Biden betrayal of Israel in a time when the Jewish democracy is fighting for its very existence against an enemy determined on its destruction was blasted by Republican lawmakers.

“Biden may slow down aid to Israel in order to appease anti-Semites & Hamas supporters in the democrat party who heckled him this week & threaten not to vote for him in November,” Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) said.

“On the same day that Joe Biden’s appeasement of Iran has resulted, as it inevitably would, in the deaths of American troops, Biden also is threatening to cut military aid to Israel. Joe Biden’s weakness is pathetic and dangerous,” wrote Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR).

Apparently Biden might stop helping Israel—unless Israel agrees to give its terrorist enemy an advantage in war, said Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT). “This makes no sense.”

Earlier this month, when Biden was heckled during his race-baiting speech at a South Carolina church, Biden told the protesters, “I’ve been quietly working…I’ve been quietly working with the Israeli government to get them to reduce and significantly get out of Gaza. I’m using all that I can to do that.
